Islington Folk Club

"From the fiercely traditional to the frankly eccentric"

The Islington Folk Club is an old-established club which has met at various venues since the early 1970s. Its continuing aim is to present the best available artists, from the fiercely traditional to the frankly eccentric. The guest artists are supported every week by the house band--The Angel Band.

You can keep up with club news on our Facebook page: Islington Folk Club.

Programme

Our next guest

Thursday 3rd September 2026 Jim Murray and the Too Good to Hurry Band All the way from Newcastle (via Eastbourne) with an eclectic mix of Geordiana, traditional and self-penned songs and the odd instrumental interlude, Jim is a fine Geordie (how did you guess?) singer whose first gig at Islington was in 1969. The ever-evolving Too Good To Hurry Band will accompany him in a renewed line-up.
‘... an excellent evening, with some intelligent reworkings of old songs, some revivals of songs I hadn't heard since my teens, and some new songs in traditional style. Highly recommended!’ Valmai Goodyear, Lewes Folk Club
