Islington Folk Club

"From the fiercely traditional to the frankly eccentric"

The Islington Folk Club is an old-established club which has met at various venues since the early 1970s. Its continuing aim is to present the best available artists, from the fiercely traditional to the frankly eccentric. The guest artists are supported every week by the house band--The Angel Band.

Keep up with news from the club on our Facebook page: Islington Folk Club.

Programme

We meet almost every Thursday (except in July, August, and the Christmas break); the evenings begin at 8pm (doors open normally at 7.30) and end around 10.30pm. See our programme giving details of forthcoming bookings.

Venue

The club is now normally at:

The Brewhouse & Kitchen
2a Corsica Street
London
N5 1JJ

The pub is just off the north-east corner of Highbury Corner. Highbury and Islington station (Victoria line, London Overground, and National Rail) is a couple of minutes away. Bus routes 4, 19, 30, 263 and 393 stop in St Paul's Road almost outside the pub; routes 21 and 43 stop nearby in Holloway Road. Public transport information can be obtained from Transport for London. There are maps on StreetMap UK or OpenStreetMap.

Admission

Admission is normally (see listings for variations) £10.00 (£8.00 for concessions). Membership (£2.00 for a calendar year) is available on the door, and entitles you to a discount on future visits. Members pay £8.00 (£6.00 for concessions) but singarounds are often free for members. You don't have to be a member to attend, nor do you have to apply for membership in advance. We do not normally sell advance tickets--entrance is by payment on the door on the night, by card or in cash. On the rare occasions when we sell advance tickets this will be made clear in the listings.

Floor singers are very welcome--we can usually fit you in; please note that we don't offer any reduction in the normal admission price. If you're looking for a booking, contact the booking officers, email: Bookings--but much the best way of being considered is to come along and do a floor spot.
